OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Oriental Peninsula Resources Group, Inc. was incorporated in the Philippines on April 16, 2007 as a holding company intended primarily to consolidate and operate companies that own mining tenements located within the Philippines. Currently, the Company has a 94% equity interest in Citinickel Mines and Development Corp. (Citinickel), which owns two nickel mining projects in the Province of Palawan, namely in the municipalities of Sofronio Espaņola and Narra.
Citinickel was formed in June 5, 2006 for the purpose of exploration, development and mining of nickel and other associated minerals. Citinickel is currently in collaboration with internationally reputable affiliates in pursuing the extraction of ore reserves and sustainable development of mineral resources within the widely known Palawan ophiolite zone. Citinickel is the sole claim owner of the Pulot Mine and the Toronto Mine (collectively hereinafter referred to as the Mineral Property) and all interests therein for its exploration, development and operation (the Nickel Mining Projects or the Projects).
As part of the Company's thrust to augment its capital funding for the ongoing site development, initial large scale operation and further explorations of the Mineral Property, the Company's shareholders, through a majority vote in due course, had recently approved the undertaking of an initial public offering. As of July 31, 2007, Oriental Peninsula's assets amounted to approximately P1,152.0 million consisting of cash and advances to and investment in Citinickel.
AFFILIATES OF THE COMPANY AND ITS SUBSIDIARY
Citimax Group, Inc. (Citimax), which owns 41.66% of the Company, was registered on February 23, 1993 and was initially engaged solely in the supply of heavy horizontal equipment and generators. Later on, Citimax, together with its subsidiaries, Rockworks Resources Corporation (Rockworks) and Hardrock Aggregates, Inc. (Hardrock) diversified into the construction business and mining operation. Presently, Citimax has four mining projects namely: the Toronto and Pulot Nickel Mining Projects in Palawan, Basalt Mining Project in Antipolo, and Silica Mining Project in Roxas, Palawan.
On the other hand, Rockworks was incorporated on April 25, 2003 to address the aggregate requirements of the San Roque Dam, which was constructed by Raytheon-Ebasco Overseas Ltd. Hardrock is currently engaged in quarry operations in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City.
